  • A notary is a publicly commissioned official who serves as an impartial witness to the signing of a legal document. A notary’s duty is to make sure the signers are aware of the contents of the documents they are signing, that the signer’s documents are for their true identity, & that they signed willingly without intimidation or coercion. A notary is prohibited from providing legal advice of any kind.

  • An apostille &/or authentication certifies the signature(s) of the person(s) on the document as valid signatures, & more specifically the person(s) authorized to subscribe their respective signature(s) on the document(s). Due to the required process of signature certification as required by legalization process, the documents which bear it are acceptable for legal use in foreign countries.

  • $ 0.75 per mile round-trip

  • $35.00 minimum

 

Special Convenience Fees

  • $25.00 per 20 minute wait time

  • $75.00 - 8:01pm - 11:00pm

  • $175.00 - 11:01pm - 1:00am next day

  • $250.00 - 1:01am - 7:59am

Hospitals-Nursing Homes Fees

  • $60.00 - Includes 15 mile round-trip & 2 signatures.

  • $15.00 - Fee/signature over total of 2.

  • $.75 - per mile in excess of 15 mile round trip.

 

Apostilles and Authentications (Legalization)

 

  • There are 2 types of countries of destination: Hague Convention & Non-Hague oncention. Apostilles can only be issued for countries that belong to the Hague Convention. If your destination country is not a member, you will most likely need a U.S. Department of State Certification &/or Embassy Legalization in addition to the certification by the U.S. State of orgin. We will review & advise which is applicable.

 

Document Preparation

  • 1.

    All documents presented for an Alabama/Georgia Apostille are limited to documents with specific signatures. Make sure that your documnt has a qualifying signature. Call us if you are unsure (334)

  • 2.

    If you are producing your own document, such as a Power of Attorney, contract bids or any printed document that requires your signature, we will notarize your signature at no additional charge when we pick up your document. (Local Only)

  • 3.

    Alabama/Georgia education docs, such as High School/College Diplomas, transcripts, etc., should also be notarized by the school. We can usually obtain this for you for local schools and colleges.

  • 4.

    If your document has multiple signatures, verify whether or not each signature requires an notarization prior to the Apostille legalization; remember, it is the signature chain that is legalized, not the document.

  • 5.

    All documents seeking an apostille should have a certification date within the past five years.

  • 6.

    If your document is written in a foreign language & needs the U.S. Department of State Authentication (usually required for Non-Hague Convention countries), it must be accompanied with an English translation.
